Chris Benson
Owner
Chris Benson got started with computers when he was about 10 years old, but it would be nearly 20 years before he would make them his career. After college, he got his professional start in 1997 with Symantec Corporation, the makers of the popular Norton line of antivirus and security software. After spending 6 years as a Sr. Software Engineer working on the latest cutting-edge security software, his job was relocated down to southern California. As a native Oregonian he was not in a hurry to leave the Pacific Northwest, so he decided that would be a great time to become his own boss and try his hand as an entrepreneur. He founded GeeksAKnockin in May of 2003 with the idea of providing not only expert computer repair and service to residential computer users, but also providing an exceptional customer experience. In 2007 they created the AlwaysOnIT small business division to expand that same philosophy to small businesses with less than 50 employees.

So I had a NAS to install. From my perspective it seemed a straightforward project. Once into it, turns out what I needed on my end was a bit more of a challenge than anticipated. In the end they just couldn't pull through to get it done due to what I was told was risk. I was frustrated of course and disappointed it didn't get finished. I give them 5 stars because of 2 things.
First the IT guy I worked with was a great guy and I very much enjoyed him. Second was customer support. Once they knew they wouldn't be able to finish the product they bowed out and made things right between us. I think the customer level there shows integrity. Anyways, best regards guys. Thanks for at least giving it a go.

Duane was very knowledgeable regarding for 2012 Mac book and described the benefits of doing a repair vs purchasing a new Mac. Instead of buying a new model a very reasonably priced upgrade was done with him telling me every detail of the cost and personal sit down to go over changes to the computer. Excellent service that he stands behind. Trustworthy. Would recommend to anyone.

I had a new computer to network, update with new office and other programs, and sync with a printer. Jackie was early! He was very knowledgeable and professional. He was also helpful in recommending some other technical items I wanted to purchase. He made the transition to my new system a breeze. Would recommend AlwaysOnIt and the tech services of Jackie specifically to anyone needing IT assistance.

Jackie arrived within the window of time I was given for my appointment and went right to work on my dead MacBook. The problem was elusive, but he was determined to see it through with methodical problem solving. It took nearly an hour and a half but my laptop is back to fast, smooth performance. Very pleased with the service and attitude.

Jackie Gibbs came out last Friday to assess the problems my husband Gary was having with his low-cost Dell laptop. It took him a very short time to determine that the root causes were a shortage of memory and the lack of a solid state hard drive. He recommended a different, only slightly more expensive Dell, which we picked up that afternoon at Best Buy.
We were able to get a Tues. afternoon appointment for Jackie to come transfer everything to the new computer. His earlier appointments ran late, but he called to keep us informed of his progress. The transfer went smoothly & he even removed the hard drive from the old laptop so we could take the carcass to a nearby electronics recycling center. And, by the way, the additional memory & solid state drive eliminated all the issues that were driving Gary crazy.
I was using Word on my laptop while Jackie was working & everything seemed fine. However, Gary & I both have accounts on Windows 365. In the early evening, I was unable to print a word document & later I was unable to open Word. In frustration, I sent Jackie an email, to which he responded, even thought it was 9:40 pm. We corresponded back & forth until ~10, when he suggested that I try "re-start." Although I'd already turned my laptop off & back on twice, I tried "re-start" & that did the trick.
I can't thank Jackie enough (a) for being dedicated enough to answer my plea for help so late at night & (b) for thinking of an alternative approach that fixed the issue. Another reason why we always call AlwaysOnIt.

When I called the company for advice, Matt was very helpful. I'm always a bit concerned about talking about computers, because I'm a low-tech person and technology is mostly a mystery to me. He gave me good advice about my old computer (I decided to replace it rather than upgrade) and a recommendation for a new printer. After I purchased the new equipment, I made an appointment and was able to have them come to my house within 2 days. Jackie arrived right on time and was very polite, thorough, and answered all my questions.
He set up the new computer, moved everything I needed from my old laptop to the new one, and got the computer talking to the new printer. Everything was done in about an hour and I'm very happy with the result. Definitely recommend this company and I'll use them again in the future!

Fool me once, it's your mistake. Fool me twice, it's my mistake & I don't make the same mistake twice. Well, Geeks a Knockin finally did call me back & we arranged to try a "remote" fix. Guess what. It didn't work. When I called them back to let them know that my computer was working just as bad, if not worse, than before they "fixed" it, they told me that they would come to the house again but would have to charge me for another service call. "NOT GONNA HAPPEN". My advice. Bring you computer in to the Geek Squad in Best Buy, you'll pay mpre but the job will get done right.

These guys know their stuff. I hit the blue screen of no return, so I thought. I called the Geeks to set an appointment and they were able to come by the next day. Within 30 minutes I was up and running! They helped me resolve my computer issues quickly, we're courteous and very reasonably priced. I would recommend them to my friends and family. Thanks Geeks a knockin!
