A RUSH Service puts a computer ahead of all other computers. It is placed on the bench as soon as the computer is taken to the back, and worked on every working hour until it is finished (and sometimes outside of the work day). Giving a definite time is very hard, but we can say that it will be finished as fast as possible with our full attention.

Omg! I wanted to cancel Comcast because their Internet services costs are outrageous! One day last year my sister put me on to Lmi.net. Everytime and I mean, everytime the interaction with the employees are professional & pleasant. I recently called to address a connection issue. Let's begin with Ms Jackie. She has a way of making you feel appreciated & goes over and beyond to make sure your concerns are addressed no matter how many times you need assistance.
She gives off a sweet demeanor, down to earth kinda gal with a nice sense of humor. Im sure she is a cute as her personality! Let's talk about the superb tech assistance. Julio is amazing. He is nice, patient and keeps his word. If he tells you he will call back to make sure your service is good.count on it. He called me multiple times until he reached me.
He gave clear responses to my questions and offered solutions to address the issue. Usually when your experiencing issues with your internet your frustrated and the person on the other end sometimes complicates the situation. Not with LMI.Their willingness to help and get you right is on point. You can tell this company treats their employees like family and not just an employee.
It just happens to trickle down to the customers and I appreciate that. Yes! If you need affordable internet service, pls check out LMI! I signed up with LMI to provide a fiber drop to my house. Wyatt Atkinson scheduled an installation date and time. That time came and went so I tried contacting Wyatt both by phone and by email. Nothing. No response. I finally got a call back. They apologized for the mix-up, saying that they needed a letter signed by my neighbor allowing them to access their back yard. It would have been nice if they had informed me of this requirement previously. So the installation was rescheduled for a week later. I will wait to see what happens.

Excellent service for installation of fiber connection. Technician Derrick went beyond what was expected to get me up and running with a router I purchased. (I probably did need a router so fancy, with dozens of settings enough for a business, so consider going with what LMI offers for the simpler installation.) I've had service with them for a least 15 years. Never once did Sonic network go down, and LMI was around to upgrade twice. Couldn't be more pleased.

It was with great sadness that I had to cancel our business account with LMI today as our office has closed for the foreseeable future and our employees are now working from home. LMI has been a terrific internet service provider for our company throughout the years. Their service has been steady and good, and whenever we did encounter problems (most often due to no issue from them) their customer service was quick to respond, courteous and efficient. They have come through for us repeatedly and I can't recommend this company highly enough. If our office should reopen at some point we will be back!

I have been with LanMINDS for over ten years. They delivered wireless Internet service to an apartment building that I managed. Now the house I am in on Northside of Berkeley is one of their single-residence accounts. At the apartments LMI would answer service requests very quickly, and did not hesitate to install a new radio when the existing one reached the end of its life cycle. Now, as always, I can get knowledgeable tech staff on the phone for whatever I need or want to know, and usually I end up knowing well more than the momentary need calls for.

I've been an LMI customer for many years. The service has always been reliable, and the staff is excellent. If you believe in buying local, this is a chance to do so. The best part is that if you're having trouble with a piece of gear, you can just walk into their office with it, and they'll help you get it set up properly.

This is my second 5 star posting of LMi. Net. Despite not being a customer because LMi. Net doesn't provide service where I live, the personnel who I met was kind enough to spend time with me explaining the nature of my DSL problem. I would definitely consider LMi. Net if it provided DSL service where I live.

Update- I spoke with Sonic, LMi's just provides a Sonic connection - they were clear that I'd be lucky to get 20Mbps at this location. LMi's staff doesn't appear to know anything on their own, and management there is dishonest about what they do (they just are the middle man between you and sonic). Even their response to this review is a whole lot of fake outrage. I gave up and went Comcast for the time being, at least it's a known quantity and I'm getting 450Mbps down, a

LMi provides the services I want at a cost I can afford, without any fuss or muss. Although the cost is somewhat higher than the special introductory contracts provided by other companies their cost is well below the cost that those companies charge when the special offers expire. Which means I don't have to deal with the hassle of finding a new provider every year and/or getting caught with sky-hi costs if I miss a deadline.
And it's a month-to-month arrangement, so if I ever want or need to switch providers I can do so at will, without penalty. But best of all is the customer service. Everyone at LMi is either a native English speaker, or as near to so as to make no difference. And they all know how to THINK! As opposed to working off a script. If a tech doesn't know an answer immediately s/he finds it or figures it out!
This is a refreshing time and aggravation saver. And lastly, although it should go without saying, I will note here that everyone is polite, friendly, and respectful. Plus they're local. I recently got a new phone and was having trouble getting email to work with it. So I walked over there, and the tech sorted it out pronto. And when there was a problem with my router I brought it by there and exchanged it for a replacement. On the spot. You can't beat that!

Full disclosure - I worked here for about six months - 20 years ago. I was a customer before that - and I still am. Their Phiber serve works really well. Tech support is knowledgeable and helpful, they're solar-powered, and they're local. I like that I'm spending my money here in the community. I also am so glad to not have to deal with Comcast, AT&T etc for my internet access. I'm staying.

Do not use LMI if you live in SF. Our download speeds were 3 mb/sec, and intermittent. We couldn't stream videos. Our security system wouldn't work. We have spent months trying to work out with lmi what they could provide and they always told us they could provide the contracted speeds, having to send technicians out twice to address the problem.
We switched to Comcast (very reluctantly) and are getting speeds greater than 100mb/sec. Wish we had done it much sooner. LMI will tell you they can service you even if they can't. Stay away! Update: To be very specific, we live in an area that is sandwiched between Inner Sunset, Inner Parkside, Forest Hill, West Portal and Twin Peaks. It also took a while to schedule our service and tried to bill us for the corrective calls.
Just get good internet to start with. Don't waste your time with a company that guesses about the service you'll be able to get or that doesn't understand that internet service in the Bay Area is not optional. (Do NOT use this company if you expect to work from home ever.)

Typing this from my phone, since I don't yet have internet installed. This review is for the start up process only. It hasn't been quick or easy to get my service set up, but I understand the constraints a small company like LMI has. They have tried to work with me running on a slower service sooner than they can get Phiber installed, and I definitely appreciate those efforts. Vos has been particularly helpful.
The price is right in line with other big players. I'll update my review after I have more experience with their service, but I'm optimistic based on the other reviews.

Time for a post-honeymoon review. Still holding at a solid 5 stars. Download speeds on my hard-wired computer have been consistently in the mid-900s. I've transitioned over to their VOIP telephone service, and that's been fine. Comcast is history. It's been a rare pleasure to download the entire MS Office suite in a few minutes as opposed to a half-hour or longer.

I've been a customer for at least 5 years, and always had great, fast internet service and wi-fi. Any time there has been a problem, it was easy to get a hold of a tech and they helped me solve the issue within minutes over the phone or sent someone out to reposition my dish. It's so refreshing to deal with somebody local who isn't reading from a script. Highly recommend their services!

Berkeley's locally-owned, solar-powered internet service is completely wonderful. Their support team is soooo responsive and down-to-Earth and helpful - I have never had a problem they couldn't solve within a few short minutes and rarely even a problem at all! Definitely better, more reliable high speed service than any other carrier I've ever been with.
Totally reasonable rates, fantastic service and you can feel good about supporting people who care about what they're doing. Very easy to work with, did I mention very accessible support?! I also use them as my landline phone carrier - sometimes the phone service is a little spotty next to what I had with AT&T but I *love* the feature that lets me download voicemail messages straight to my computer so I can keep hearing the voices of those I love forever and ever. Thank you, LMI, for doing such a great job!

These guys (and gals) are great. Excellent service and customer support, and 1/2 the price of Xfinity for much higher bandwidth. I've purchased Internet services, both business and personal, from a variety of providers for at least 30 years. LMI is the best I've ever had. And, I can walk into their office because it's close, and there are real people that you can talk to. Bonus.

Our business is saving a lot of money with LMI in comparison to what we were paying for AT&T. And the customer services is SOOO much better. I can't tell you how much trouble I had with AT&T. With LMI, I just call or e-mail, and if someone doesn't answer the phone right away, someone calls back very shortly after. They have walked me through setting up my voicemail system over the phone, gone through the extra effort of researching a reconfiguration for our fax machine which didn't initially work after we switched to fiber, and they have visited us in person as needed. I, like many people, was a bit frustrated dealing with the big internet service providers. The impersonal treatment, high bills and long waits if something went wrong. I looked for a local ISP here in the Bay Area, and found LMI.net They are locally run, by smart, polite professionals who do care about their customers. During the free installation the tech at my house noticed the wiring was less than optimal and did some work which effectively doubled my download speed. Additionally, when a problem occurred with the router I had, they brought a replacement to my front door.
The rates were great (less than 1/2 what I'd been paying a big provider), the trouble shooting team almost immediately responsive, and I really liked having these folks taking care of my internet cares. Jim Bianco El Sobrante, CA

Local business, using the Sonic backbone. You're at the mercy of the infrastructure though, so you'll need to also deal with AT&T if there's a problem. Would be much easier if they had 24/7 support, but no dice. Just normal business hours (keep that in mind if you have to cancel service and return equipment). Had several problems over 4 years, and often a whole weekend without service until they check messages on Monday morning.
If you get a chance to use their fiber service, that has the potential to avoid all the horrible infrastructure issues that I ran into. Give that a shot. Service is hit and miss. Some of the people on support know what they're doing, others are not as great. Always watch your billing if you're told that you'll get a credit for service outages. I never got credit for almost a month of total outages (over 4 years) until I closed my account.
On the plus side, the person in charge of that is very friendly and helpful (even though I was stopping service). So they're not malicious, they just have some bad internal communications.

Both my mom and I have been LMi customers for about a year now. Both of us have been very happy with their service. No contract, no 30-day notice, no BS that many other companies give you. Price is very reasonable too, and speeds were fine. I am moving to another part of Oakland next week, and the one downside is I won't be able to use LMi any more. Definitely recommend them if you're in their service area.

Customer for 6 months, needed a service tech 4 times in 6 months! The service provided is good, but all I heard is that "San Francisco is soooo far away for the service techs to drive", and I never got a response to the last messages I left about my modem overheating and, sure enough, my modem burned out. Not a great company for San Francisco residents- and VERY expensive!

Made contact with the guys at Authorized Computer Repair in March 2012 after experiencing a total computer crash. Being that I prep taxes for a living, and my client's data was stored on the server that choose to meltdown, let's just say I was a bit stressed? Anyway, spoke with a nice & knowledgeable fella, dropped my CPU off and presto 2-3 days later all problems resolved and I was able to retrieve every drop of data! I paid extra for the expedited service but feel that I was given great service at a great price and my CPU works like it did at the time of purchase!

Let's keep this short and sweet! My old computer died. I took it to 3 different places, no one could fix it, Last hope Authorized computer Repair. Jonathan was very optimistic and the staff welcomed the challenge. It took only 3 days and I had old Betsie BACK! They are the most talented group of hackers in the bay!
