Stan's Tech Garage recently set up a new computer for me and recovered and uploaded data from the damaged hard drive in my old computer. Each one of the staff is very knowledgeable and also very courteous and helpful. The pricing for the service provided was lower than I imagine. The team members were trustworthy and genuinely cared that I was satisfied with the outcome.

They quickly diagnosed the problems with my laptop and returned it to me on time in its original mint condition within the price they'd quoted, good as new. I don't like to rate low small businesses. But, I have a homebuild, which I understand is more difficult to repair. But they held onto my computer for a few days, ran it on through tests after putting down the deposit. They didn't offer any real solutions. Offered one quick fix that I was able to do at my home for free but offered to do it on their end for hundreds of dollars.
They wanted to move all of the software onto another storage device and priced it well above what it should've cost to do. Once I got home, I also found that they damaged the chassis. The solution they also suggested ultimately did not work. Would not recommend for other homebuilds.

I have had many computers over the past 30 years, and have worked with many a repair businesses on several of those computers. Never have I had the absolute pleasure of working with anyplace that even remotely compares to Stan's Tech Garage. They diagnosed, repaired and made fully operational my computer which had a failing hard drive and impacted Windows OS.
My computer runs better than it ever has. The price was very fair; Their shop, well-designed, clean, organized and professional. Even if you live 50 miles away, that trip will be time very well spent. Most places engage in a lot of trial and error, guesswork and randomness. Not these guys: They get it done right, the first time.

My laptop was acting up and randomly shutting off, so I thought it was a battery problem. It turned out to be a problem with the battery and hard drive, so they were going to install an SSD hard drive and replace the old one. A couple months later the laptop had similar problems, and after a while during Covid, the entire system wouldn't work. I took it to a different repair shop where they told me it wasn't worth trying to fix. Basically, the solution didn't fix the problem. For the money I spent, I wish the laptop would've been in working condition a lot longer than a few months.

I couldn't be happier with Stan's Tech Garage. My Mac laptop needed a new battery, and Stan took the time to run tests, to make sure the battery wasn't a dud from sitting on the shelf. It's that attention to detail and just. great communication that's going to have me coming back and recommending him to any of my friends who need help : And getting to pet the dogs in the office is just another huge perk.

I first discovered Stan's Tech Garage when I had an issue with my phone. They don't do phones, but they referred me to Hollywood iPhone Repair, where I had a great experience. So when I had a computer issue, I decided to go back to Stan's even though I don't live or work that close to it anymore. The trackpad on my laptop was acting up and the tech and I agreed that the problem was probably battery swelling.
They replaced the battery a few days later (had to wait for the battery to ship to them), and they gave me back my laptop. They didn't meet the time estimate they gave me, which put me in the annoying position of having to hang around West Hollywood for a few hours until I could pick it up, but whatever. Trouble was when I got it back, the trackpad problem was still there, and they hadn't properly secured the new battery, so I could feel and hear it sliding around inside the laptop.
I called up Stan's to tell them the problem wasn't fixed, and they told me to bring it back. When I brought it back on a weekend, the person working said I should come back on a weekday when his supervisor would be in. When I brought it back on a weekday, the people working didn't know anything about my problem, but they took my laptop to re-diagnose it.
They said I'd get a call in 2-3 days. After at least 4 days of radio silence, I went back in. Again, it took some time for them to figure out who I was, then a guy went into the back, found my laptop, and told me there was nothing wrong with it. I took it home. Trackpad problem was still there. Battery was still sliding around inside. So I finally gave up and went to another repair shop closer to my house.
They actually listened to me. They secured the loose battery and replaced my trackpad same-day. I wish I hadn't wasted so much time and money dealing with Stan's. But still, I'm grateful for the tip about Hollywood iPhone Repair. They were great. EDIT: Just a small note to address STG's reply: I did not say "spazzy." If that's in the notes, it's because that's how the tech described it.

My lab top had water spill damage Over it and I brought it into Stan's Tech Garage to take care of the issue immediately. They listen to my concerns and handled everything in a very professional manner. I highly recommend coming to them for any of your laptop needs. It only took about a day to get fixed and they did a thorough inspection and made sure everything was working properly. The staff is super helpful, understanding, patient, and professional. I was highly satisfied with their services and will definitely be coming back to them.

I had some major issues with my custom threadripper, they identified the issues and even took care of the RMA process and got everything back up and running. Stan's is fantastic. First off, they are incredibly nice and extend themselves for their customers. They are honest and creative problem solvers. They let you know when something is worth fixing and when it doesn't make sense to spend the money. They repair things in a timely manner and their prices are very fair. Just today, I needed advice with something and Andrew took the time on the phone to think the problem through and gave me advice that was extremely helpful. I recommend them most emphatically.

Great and fast service! I am an Animator and I'm going to school for VFX. I just built my first computer for my work and personal use. Had some trouble, called them and scheduled an appointment. They had me computer up and running the the next day! The staff was friendly, prices were very reasonable, and the process was very smooth and efficient. Computer stopped working, did everything I could from my end, short of opening it up myself and risking further damage. Stans was within walking distance and had great reviews so gave them a shot. What could have been worse actually turned out to be my keyboard was shot and needed to be replaced (power button was affected). Needed it for a presentation and they got it fixed by the next evening. The diagnosis has a charge that will be subtracted if you choose to use them for full service of a repair. Great guys, great quick service.

Stan's Tech Garage has saved my ass not once, but now twice. I'm well overdue for a 5 star review. The first time, years ago now, they recovered a bricked laptop. They were easy to work with and affordable. Last week, I was a complete moron and spilled a glass of Diet Coke over the top of my desktop tower. I called Stan's Tech Garage immediately and the staff member who answered walked me through what I needed to do, and let me know when they opened the next day so I could bring it in (I did this 20 minutes before closing on a Friday night).
I dropped it off on Saturday and they called me within 24 hours to let me know the damage was limited and my computer/all my data could be saved! They gave me two options with clear pricing, and let me decide on next steps. They worked on it during the week and provided regular updates via text. Picked it up and it works better than it did before (with a new motherboard and fan lol).
I honestly feel so lucky none of the most important bits were damaged, and it was easy to get it fixed with clear (and clearly priced!) information from Stan's Tech Garage. Highly recommend if you have a computer emergency!

So far, I've had an excellent experience with Stan's Tech Garage. My Alienware 18 laptop has been acting up for the last month. The laptop would shut-off sporadically. It got to the point where it wouldn't turn-on. I performed a diagnostics and checked the battery health. It was 26%. I replaced the battery right away; that fixed the issue of the laptop not turning on, but the laptop would still turn-off on its own.
I realized the power adapter cord no longer lit up, so I replaced that too. Even then, the problem didn't go away. By that time, I figured it was possibly the worst case scenario of the motherboard. I brought the laptop to Stan's Tech Garage the other day. Everyone was very nice and professional. I explained the situation to them. I could tell they knew what they were talking about.
I received a call earlier today. The worst case scenario was confirmed.it's the motherboard. Although I ordered a new Alienware Area 51 laptop, scheduled to be delivered next week, I asked them to replace the motherboard and upgrade the core i7 4th gen chip to the core i7 8th gen if possible. They're looking into that now. I'm very stoked about their service. Once the laptop is fixed, I'm going have them build two desktop towers; one for my place as server backup and one for the primary server at the office in San Francisco.

My desktop computer crashed and they analyzed the problem within 5 minutes, a bad graphics card. Gave me my fix options and a suggestion to upgrade my hard drive to solid state before that crashes. They did the fix and cloned the new SS Drive from my old drive. Now my computer runs faster than ever because the solid state hard drive is more efficient. Thanks

So once again these guys have come thru for me because once again i'm a complete putz and spilled something on my MacBook! i actually have a keyboard cover which caught most of the spills there. but the liquid went into my trackpad and the result was my cursor jumping around non-stop and out of control on screen the way some guys do on grinder. and we need to put a stop to that, don't we?!. brought this in on a sunday at 10 a.m. got it back by monday just a little after noon. i would say that is super duper fast service! lucky the liquid damage was only on the trackpad, per their diagnostic. if it was deeper then there probably woulda been more trouble. but ain't that always the case?!. i have dealt many times in the past with stan the man who is the proprietor of this fine establishment, but this time it was jimmy who i can assure you is a smart and savvy technical turk. he's actually the one who opened up the machine, did the diagnostic and then the work. he knows what he's doing and he done did me right! i am a total moron for spilling a (another) drink. but these smarties set me straight. well. not straight, but you get the point. they will fix your mess. give life to your laptop. rescue your wrecked machine. they saved my life. this is better than church.
