After finding this place on yelp, I went in and got a free diagnoses....turns out it was my motherboard. They were able to diagnose the problem, and retrieve all of my information and put it on an external hard drive the same day I brought it in, and all for only $50. The customer service was also really great, the guy that helped me (I forgot his name) was as nice as could be. Just this morning I recommended them to my dad.

Tech2U in Carlsbad was amazing. They quickly responded to my request for quote to fix a Razor Laptop with a USB issue. Their pricing and communication was excellent. Levi at Laptops Plus in Carlsbad went beyond the call of duty to salvage the collapse of my computer hard drive during Christmas week. He constantly gave me updates and eventually manage to clone all of my data on a new operating system. He really worked miracles and I was truly grateful for the service I received. I'm especially glad I have a service contract with tech 2U since they are always so helpful whenever I needed them remotely.

Top notch! Levi took care of my laptop break down in the most efficient and least expensive way. He listed all my options and the pros and cons of each so that I could make the best decision for my situation. In addition, he sent off my hard drive to a very reputable company and yahoo they were able to recover all my data for less than what I expected. I called other shops locally and they wanted to charge me $30 inspection fee just to have them look at my computer for a second. I didn't experience that with laptops Plus in Carlsbad. They spent about 20 minutes with me and I found out that my power cord went bad. They were pleasant and informative. They've definitely earned my business in the future.

Gil tried his best to recover the data from my fried MacBook.although ultimately his efforts were in vain, he didn't charge me anything for the many hours of working on it. I understand now why my husband has been going to them for years! I'm a loyal customer now.(Just hoping I don't need them again any time soon!)

Brought my gaming laptop in to have an issue diagnosed. The technician spent extra time on my laptop to determine the issue was a failure in the motherboard, which needed to be replaced. Unfortunately a replacement motherboard couldn't be found because it's a custom unique part and will be difficult to track one down. He gave me the laptop back with helpful info from his diagnosis, some info to help me find the part, had spent all this extra time diagnosing my laptop, and the diagnosis was FREE.
If I can locate the part, I will for sure be coming back here to have him install it. He was helpful, very honest, didn't try to upsell me stuff, and I'd trust him with any computer issue.

Awesome! Strictly awesome! My computer is running great. Nicholas did a heck of a job replaced my hard drive with a solid state one! My laptop is old but he replaced the drive and then cleaned my outside so it looks like a brand new computer! Love that customer service. My laptop went to a white screen and would not change. Turned it off and it would not start. Took it to what I thought was Laptops Plus and was surprised to discover Tech2u. I know enough about computers to understand what they were telling me. It need a much better drive. They installed a solid state drive and my Laptop works better than when it was new. Folks there are friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend them.

I found this company on Yelp and had a few questions before dropping my laptop off. They were quick to respond and very professional. I had contacted a few and felt this one seemed the most experienced. Especially when one company told me my Apple needed windows The appointment was easy to schedule and Gilbert had great customer service. He answered all my concerns and explained exactly what the process would be.
When he called and told me I needed a new hard drive he didn't try to sell me the most expensive one. It was a great experience and I will definitely go back and recommend to my friends.

Second time I took a computer there, and was disappointed again. After 20 days, ordered part still hadn't arrived and no one thought to maybe order it from somewhere else (Amazon?) no communication, had to call many times to find out status and ended up picking up my computer still not repaired- and buying the part elsewhere. (Got the part the next day) seems like no one is managing the shop!

Levi is the man. My family has been going to this location for 10 years; buying and for repairs. The man running the show is Levi and he always treats you like your needs and concerns are the most important thing to him. He listens, recommends and fixes the issue if possible. I also have the virus program they offer, and the repair coverage package for my whole family that they offer.
You pay a monthly fee and when something happens, it's covered by the plan, no extra charges. They can also access your PC at home if needed, so no need to go in. This place is a gem.

Update: after management saw my unsatisfied review I received a call to discuss where things went wrong, our conversation definitely assured me that my experience must have been a fluke and he agreed that the issues I had should not have happened, and even offered me a discount on my next service. With so many other positive reviews I will likely give them another shot in the future!

These guys are tech-wizards! We had an external hard drive as our back up for our PC. It failed, taking a lot of important records and photos with it. We brought it to these guys and within a week they had repaired the external hard drive enough to transfer all of the data to another drive. They were in constant communication throughout the entire process.
We always knew how much we would be charged as we went along. Reasonable prices, great communication, quick repairs and advice on how to avoid this situation in the future. We never felt like we were being "up-sold". Their office is convenience located and well-organized. If you have any questions regarding technology or need repairs, these guys are who you need to turn to. You won't be disappointed!

I brought in a mid-2011 MacBook Pro that had overheated and then would not boot properly. I took it into the shop and Levi was fantastic in answering all of my questions and made me feel extremely confident he could get the job done. He identified the issue (the motherboard to hard drive cable had been damaged), fixed that up and did a thermal repasting.
Once I got it back, everything was like new AND he threw in a complimentary re-install of the OS! I can't recommend these guys enough - I'll be coming here anytime my laptops give me trouble again. Thanks Levi!

I like the worker so I avoided writing this review but they really did me dirty on a refurbished laptop I bought that clearly had problems when they sold it to me. I was sold a laptop I thought was an overstock laptop and an old model. It turned out to be used and refurbished but I wasn't told that until after I wasn't allowed to return it.
The laptop never worked. I brought it in and they did an extensive service and cleaning to the computer and got it working perfectly again. But within a few days it wasn't working. They wouldn't let me return or even trade it in. It's junk. I bought another from a different retailer immediately. $250 lap warmer. Nothing plus about it.
On another occasion I brought my i-phone to change the battery. While doing it they broke the screen and I had to buy a new one because the hinges on the old one were 'broke' before. After trying new battery and installing new screen it turned out that there was just dust in the charger port. I went back to the old battery and paid for the new screen.
Then my phone started texting people on its own and scrolling and not being responsive. I shamefully sold it for $60 on CL. However, our computer is there now. I do think they do a good job removing virus. So despite selling me garbage and destroying my phone my family still uses their services. third times a charm! But likely I will not be using their services much more.

I have used Laptops plus for a couple of years to repair and maintain our work and personal PCs and laptops. Their technicians have always been prompt, thorough and knowledgeable and I have always felt I was being charged a very fair price for the work performed. My personal suggestion: ask for Levi. He is awesome and can come to your home or office if needed.

It all started with my 1 year son getting his hands on my laptop and some how managed to crack my screen. I decided to order a screen off Amazon and fix it myself but as I had a lot going on, I just didn't have the patience to do it. So I decided to go to Laptops Plus after hearing about them from a friend of mine and the reviews received here on Yelp.
I am sure I saved a lot of money as I already had a screen but the cost ended up being far less than I would have thought; they also had it done in a day. I definitely know where to go know if I am having any issues with my laptop or any other pieces of technology I have.

As a Mac user I'm lost when it comes to my work PC laptop. I needed some help from a Quickbooks tutor and she was shocked to see how outdated and non-updated my system was and said In had to update all before she could help. Enter the amazing Jason at Laptops Plus. He explained over the phone what they could do then they did everything they promised. And they were fast! I will take all of our computers here to Jason from now on. I'm a fan!

This place is GREAT! They did exactly what I needed, in a timely fashion, and for a reasonable price. I had two PC laptops that needed repairs: 1) had a bad fan and was overheating. This was needed for a work trip and needed to be ready for me ASAP as I was leaving town - they ordered the fan, fixed it, and I had it within 3 days. 2) my second PC had a nasty virus on it. They fixed it, backed up my files, and it's now working great. I would absolutely go here again.
