Technician
Before becoming a computer-repair guy, John was a computer-crimes guy — an investigator with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office and before that, with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. “Most of the N.C.I.S. work was actually pretty boring,” John says. “It’s not like on television, where there are spies every week and maniacs to chase. Basically, you follow up on thefts from the Navy supply system.” After 21 years in law-enforcement, investigating computer crime in the later years, John moved to Bend and began a career in computer repair. A CompTia A+ and Network+-certified technician, John says he likes fixing computers for much the same reasons he enjoyed investigating computer crimes. “There’s a finality to your work. I like being able to say, ‘It’s done.’”

Matt used to be one of those fearless Manhattan bike commuters, dodging jaywalkers, speeding cars and open taxi doors en route to his IT job at a financial firm. "I had to make up for the fact that there were no outdoor activities in New York City," says Matt, a New Jersey native and Syracuse University graduate. "Getting to work was a real adrenaline rush." These days, Matt gets his rush mountain biking on Phil's Trail, skiing the back country or climbing at Smith Rock, either for fun or as a volunteer for the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue team. When he's not rescuing injured climbers or lost hikers, Matt is busy out in the field resuscitating virus-infected computers and retrieving files from crashed hard drives. "Fixing computer issues is like solving a puzzle," Matt says. "There's always some way to do it – you just have to figure out how."

This sinking ship has all the signs of, blame the customer for not being able to do what anyone else can, Like putting a security downloading on a new computer And remembering what computer they got you, and when they'll get it to you, This company is not needed. Please don't waste your time on someone that can easily be under bid $300 by Best Buy and the computer geeks, sorry you're the Titanic and you know it, and you treated me like this was all my fault, and I paid, and am sorry, I did, and I hope that no one else will be stupid enough to go to you. Paul I know adictive thinking when I see it do you?

My hard drive failed so I took it in for diagnostics and requested a new hard drive if needed. 16 days later, I walked out with a new hard drive and the transfer of date which was questionable because it was only downloads. Once home I found most everything on one drive. It's now running fine. They were very helpful with advice and invited me to call again if needed. Now I'm glad I asked for a new hard drive and didn't just get a new computer. Hope I can say that at least 3 years from now. Good job guys!

Dropped off my wife's Macbook Pro for repair and was told that their Mac person would be in later that day and would take a look at it. Almost a week went by and we heard nothing. I finally called to enquire about the status and the person I spoke with said that they would "look into it and call me back." Nothing. I went in the next day and told them I was there to pick it up.

The employee went in the back for several minutes, brings out my wife's laptop and says "is that the one?" No explanation or apology until I replied "Yep. Thanks for nothing." Employee replies "sorry about that." Very unprofessional and poor communication. If you need a repair take it somewhere that appreciates your business instead.

What a great job. They told me 10 days to see my computer, but was working on it in 5 days. A day later i was told the computer was ready. I talked with another computer person who thought I would have to take everything off and then reload Windows 10. they had no hope of fixing the computer, if they found not get past a password issue. I would strongly recommend using these ppl.

I scheduled a home visit for multiple networking and computer issues. Matt arrived on time, quickly took care of the issues I was having, and gave me information that was very helpful overall. I highly recommend this tech business. Very reliable, fair prices, accurate service!

Gotta say I'm very satisfied with my service at Pauls. They went extra effort for my laptop and got it right back to me at a very reasonable price. Would definitely use them again.

We brought our computer in to Paul The Computer Guy in March and had the 180.00 antivirus package and 40.00 to add Norten anti virus protection. Our office person has been out since then so we hadn't used the computer. Today I checked it and it is running super slow and NOT working properly. I called in to see if I could bring it back in and they said it is no longer under warranty. I would expect better customer service. I would advise others not to make the same mistake of using Paul the Computer Guy. Very disappointed.

Paul and his crew at Paul The Computer guy are awesome! Super quick to respond to emails and calls. They help us at our office that I manage and have helped us with server issues, simple fixes and complex also purchasing and building new computers! I cant send over an email in the morning with an issue and almost always they will have someone in our office by noon to fix the issue.

Price is fair and they even have a monthly plan you can sign up for as business for peace of mind. I appreciate everyone at Paul The Computer Guy and Highly recommend for all your computer needs!

Good not great. Took my Dell in on a Monday. I was told it would be done the following Monday. Instead it took until Thursday. Due to problems they wiped my computer clean. They did not provide me back up disks with my files. Luckily I had on-line back up (which took 40 hours to load). Also, re-installed windows but didn't give me the product key. I was a little disappointed as I had heard so many great things about Paul's.

These guys are good. I had several problems occurring in several different programs, and at first I thought my laptop would be turned into scrap metal. But Matt stuck with it for a few days and resolved all problems, and they charged me the original rate, even though it took 20 more hours than expected. And if you don't think that's enough to take your business to these guys, then listen to this: 20 bucks got me 50% more RAM. For only 20 bucks my computer is running incredibly fast, way, way faster than before. These guys are good, and I won't take my computers anywhere else.

We needed to access company files, which were on one laptop, remotely from different machines simultaneously. Paul came in and set up a compact server for us to access via the web and hooked up all our machines. Because of Paul, our access to information and thus our productivity has increased a bunch. Thanks Paul!
