This past summer, I dropped my laptop by accident on the kitchen floor. The laptop wouldn't boot afterwards, so I took it to this place. I explained the problem, & the receptionist stated they would get back to me in 24-48hrs with a diagnosis of the issue, which they did. The hard drive was damaged from the drop. I indicated I'd like the hard drive fixed/replaced.

The price was reasonable for parts & labor. At the end of it all, I had my computer back in a week, & while I had to reload all my saved items from my previous hard drive from a USB backup, the computer runs pretty smooth now, & boots in less than a minute. I'd recommend this place for anyone in the Hampton Roads area who has any computer repair/maintenance issues.

If I could give 10 stars I would! Brought in a laptop that wouldn't turn on, didn't know what was wrong with it. It was assessed quickly and efficiently. Pricing was quite reasonable as well. Thank you so much I will definitely be using your services again!

Hampton Roads Computer Gurus is amazing. Leo is awesome and truly the best there is. He has worked on several of my laptops over the years so I knew he was the right person to fix my MacBook Air. I made an appointment to have my MacBook serviced in addition to having my storage upgraded. Leo was very efficient and my MacBook is running better than it was from when I first got it.

The price was very reasonable for the service that was done and the turnaround time was wonderful. I use my MacBook daily for work and it was important to me that I wasn't going to be without in for too long. The office staff is very professional and very detail orientated. My computer was compromised recently during an attempted Scam/Hack. Fortunately I was able to avoid any financial loss. However the culprit disabled my computer and left me wondering what else he could have "planted" in my system. Leo was able to resurrect my computer and do a diagnostic review of my system for any possible Malware or Spyware the Hacker may have left behind.

I received great service from Hampton Roads Computer Gurus! They quickly diagnosed my computer's issues and offered me a few options for repair. I thought the prices they charged for diagnosis and repair were more than reasonable, and the turn-around time for my computer's repair was excellent. My laptop had come unhinged. Difficult to open and close. Clearly in need of service but it was still workable. After months of encumbered use, the laptop had had enough. It snapped fully, demanding to be serviced. It was repair or lose functionality. I wasn't ready to depart with my dear friend. After all, it has been a much needed ally. Hours of Sim play, thousands of keyboard stroke, access to Beyonce's interweb.

We've been through a lot. A'las, who should I call for help in repairing my computerize companion? I then remembered, Hampton Roads Computer Gurus could save and repair my damaged comrade! I was worried that my laptop was beyond saving and I would lose my once capable companion. No worries! HRCG delivered superlative service to my laptop and returned her to me in excellent working condition.

The auxillary services were an added bonus. No longer is my laptop a distraught oddball incapable of opening and closing. She has returned to her purpose of providing design software, printer transmissions, Netflix binges, and random google searches.

I asked for them to do a diagnostic of my computer, which had been showing signs of graphics card failure for the past few weeks. I explained the symptoms and the possible reason, which was an accidental spillage that I had worked hard to prevent damage from and that I previously had hoped to have caused little or no harm. I was told that I would receive a call within a few days. Ultimately, I called in myself after about four or five days.

The technician, Leo, then called me back not long after that to confirm that I had some degree of water damage underneath the video card, which I think I didn't see due to the card having built-in fans on that location that I had not removed. They seemed a little unsure about the nature of my issue with the computer, however, and I suspect that they were unable to replicate my computer's failures.

In the end, I was charged $60 for a detailing of the computer and for cleaning it out of the dust inside -- can't lie, I don't clean the dust out very often, so I'd say the cost was fair, although I may not have needed to pay it if I had been more thorough in my own diagnostic. I had hoped to have more details about the problem given to me after their examination, though, and that's the real biter -- I believe I need a new graphics card to fix my computer, but I am not sure if there are any other issues that I might be unaware of, and I have no definitive proof of damage to provide to insurance or to use as a starting point to attempt self-repair.

Even if all they could give me is a clean bill of health, that's still important for records and for me to sell the computer if I find it simply doesn't meet my processing needs. TL;DR, pricing is fair, business seems new, -1 star for lack of documentation on diagnostics or damage. Communication with customer may need work, but overall not bad. The receptionist (Michelle? I feel dumb, I swear it's Michelle, if you're reading this, I'm so sorry!) was a sweetheart, and I'd be happy to come back in the future for my computer problems.

My worst nightmare happened. My hard drive had stopped working! I found Hampton Roads Computer Gurus through Google & man am I thankful I did! Not only were they were was able to recover all of my data & transfer it over to a new hard drive, but also really patient & helpful when answering my plethora of questions. And the best part? The price was extremely reasonable, less than anyone else had quoted me, that's for sure! I more than highly recommend, I know I'll be back if I ever have any issues again!

These guys are simply the best! Their prices are extremely reasonable, they are friendly and communicative, and, oh yeah, they are good at fixing computers! I've used them twice before for my laptop, and this morning I called about a keyboard button that was unresponsive; rather than making me drive over and billing me to look at it, Leo first suggested I simply try blowing into it with canned air to see if something was stuck in there.
