Why do I need a backup? Most of us these days have personal data we would like to keep. If you dont want to lose your personal data you need a backup. A backup is a copy of your data from your hard drive. These would include Documents, Pictures, Music and Videos and for most of us they are located under the USER folder and in My Documents folder to be specific. In the event an operating system becomes corrupted or the hard drive fails, you need to have your important data backed up on to some area where it is unaffected or lost.

What's the difference between them you ask? Malware, short for Malicious Software is equally as bad as a virus. They are essentially the same,.. as a virus on your computer is malicious intent on making your computer respond or do things you don't want it to. We are experts at virus removal and can get you back up and working again.

We offer this service as well and we have a very good success rate. If we can't recover your data here in our shop, we have some great outside vendors whom we work with that can recover your precious files. These outside data recovery businesses offer a clean room and some high tech tools to get at your data when we can't. Save yourself some much needed grief and pain, let us make a backup or disk image of your hard drive.

I had a problem with my Dell Latitude D830 (praps 20years old). the screen no longer worked. This is not a trivial problem to solve because more than one screen version had been used with the D830. I bought a used screen on Ebay, but was it the right one? Answer. yes (whew!). But installing it was still not simple. Shawn solved the remaining problems. I'm both happy and impressed. Highly recommended.

The price was good, and it was not crowded which is great during the pandemic. It's a bit shabby however, and when we checked into our rental unit there was one half empty role of toilet paper in one bathroom and a mostly empty roll in the other. There were also no paper towels in the kitchen, just a handful of McDonald's napkins. The pool is also freezing cold, super small, and less than 4 ft deep.

With at-home learning going on for two kids, we've come to rely on our devices even more than usual. When our older model Chromebook stopped working, I was worried that we'd have to replace it completely, but the team at Shawn's found that it was just a dead charger. They diagnosed the problem, ordered a new charger, added some missing housing screws, and had it all ready to go within a couple days. I'm super appreciative of the low cost and fast turnaround time and I'd happily recommend Shawn's to everyone.

I highly recommend Shawn's Computer Repairs for your electronic issues. They go above and beyond for their customers. I dropped off a USB that had stopped working, but had years worth of data that I really needed on it. I received an email with the issues promptly and they were more than willing to work with me to get the job completed. They were timely, friendly, and LOCAL! Plus, they fixed the issue and now I have all my documents back! Great customer service and knowledge!

Shawn & Rachel are awesome. I was visiting fam in Louisville and my laptop quit booting up. I Googled for best computer repair businesses and Shawn's kept coming up. For good reason. My issue was complicated, but with their tech expertise, tools, and persistence, they fixed my laptop. Price was fair and turnaround very quick. Communication throughout excellent. I used to oversee customer service in a large health system and recognize good customer service when I see it. I saw it and got it at Shawn's!
