Great Experience! Computer was constantly on the freeze I had taken it somewhere else for repair but the issues persisted; Neil worked tirelessly on my PC and kept me informed the entire time. He was able to properly diagnose and fix the issue associated with my computer and he even upgraded my operating system. Great and tireless service and I didn't have to buy a new computer .

I would strongly recommend Neil and Bay Area Computer Repairs. I came to him in an absolute panic, my previous IT guy had said my data was backed up on Google Drive, and then when my Laptop died a blue screen of death, I learned the data was not in the cloud. Confidently and quickly, Neil got the the hard drive out of the dead laptop and immediately put the data on my portable HHD. Great Service.

Neil is my neighbor, I live across the street from his store, I brought my computer for him to fix on a Sunday morning, which he supposed to be closed on that day but he took me anyway! The repair was very efficient and goood craftsmanship, he got my computer to work in one hour, and my computer didn't work again next week, and Neil fixed again for me for free which is a window problem. Absolutely amazing! My PC is like got virus. I took it to 2 places to no available. One replaced the hard drive but the problem reappeared a week later. Another one straight up offered to do the same thing. Both did not have anything else to think of after their solution did not work out.
Until...I found Bay Area Computer Repairs on yelp! Neil at first offered the same suspicion too.
But soon he found out a faulty cable. I got it fixed just for 75$. I re-upgraded my graphics card and SDD for overall 440$! Definitely recommend this place! Would not go anywhere. Go to him and I will not regret.

I've been to this computer repair store at least 2 times and have failed to write a review until now. Neil has helped me cure my laptop and desktops from the viruses that brought them to there knees. He cleared the problem, installed Anti virus protection and saved the important stuff. And in every case had my computer back to me the next day.

Would give 6 stars if I could. Called Neil now three times and every time was able to squeeze me in, fix my issue (as I think he may be a genius) and could not be more pleasant while doing so. Detailed oriented. didn't overcharge when it was emergency service.and very trust worthy. I just don't see that much great customer service out there anymore so when I do it's greatly appreciated. It's so nice to know that when I have a problem with our computers, I have Neil to call. Thank you!

Neil got my laptop up and running after the Microsoft recovery tool would not repair or reinstall windows. Neil was able to preserve the data on the d drive and wipe only the c drive that had the os. The computer actually seems much happier now with the clean install from Neil. I still have quite a bit of customization and setup ahead of me, but I'm glad to be back up and running. The whole thing only took about 20 minutes.

Neil is the best! My dad referred him to me years ago and he is my one and only computer guy. He has loaded graphix cards into my computers(I'm an occasional gamer), diagnosed and fixed operating errors, and most recently got my our house's Wi-Fi dialed in. The thing I like most about Neil is that he is always thinking about what is the optimal solution to any problem. He considers all aspects of an issue and lines out the best approach. I wish all service providers were this good!

Hi, I reached out to Neil who runs Bay Area Computer Repairs in San Bruno because I needed a PC laptop for school and didn't want to buy a store bought computer that was preloaded with 'BS' software and free trials that would slow the computer down. Also, I had a limited budget since I am a student. I needed a PC because the software used in Construction Management, my major, is all PC based. Neil came to the rescue.
He found me a sweet Lenovo business laptop, he checked all the specs and I told him the programs and functions I would need. Also, he told me that this laptop would be easier to repair and upgrade as time went on. I bought it AND also had Neil wipe the computer clean and load just the necessary programs. So far I am very happy with my purchase; I use the laptop everyday since the semester started for a least 6 hours a day; zoom classes and home work. Finally, I like that I now have someone I can call if I have a quick question, and can get advice on how to maintain my laptop. Neil knows a lot and is a great resource for your computer needs. I barely write reviews on yelp and google but this made me very happy cause I just happen to save 2k trying to buy a new gaming machine. I gave up thinking the machine was done and then i thought let me go to google and see if I can find someone that knows what they doing. found Bay Area Computer Repairs near Me. Neil was generous to come to my house and within a sec he was able to find the fault in my computer.
The CPU went bad and cost me only $190 to buy this and $185 to replace this. can't thank Neil enough. Neil knows what he is doing. the quality of work Neil provides is above and beyond. Also, it is hard to find someone during the covid who can take care you so fast. I envy people who are hardworking and cares for others. Neil saved me close to $1500.00.

As an online student working on my Bachelors Degree, it was vital that my computer was operating at a high level. I only lost one day from class, my computer was taken in the morning and by mid noon I received a call back. I was able to pick-up my computer by the early evening on the same day. Words cannot express how great Neal and Bay Area Computer Repair is! Our Dell computer crashed, erasing the windows OS, and along with it 13 years of photos, videos, documents, and memories. Like an idiot, I had no backup. Dell telephone support was unable to restore the OS. They sent a new windows disc, but was still unable to install without wiping any chance of salvage away.
I told them I was going to call a local repair guy in a last chance effort to save 13 years worth of data. Yelp showed me the way! With 186 reviews and a solid 5 star rating, I called Neal. This was on a Saturday afternoon. I made an appointment with Neal for Sunday morning. That's right, SUNDAY! By Sunday afternoon, Neal had completely recovered my data, installed a new Windows 7 OS, and even completely cleaned my computer.
He provided me with an external backup drive, as well as reinstalled all the lost data onto my restored computer. Neal was AMAZING. He kept me posted each step of the way via telephone, and always confirmed equipment purchases before hand. This is TOP NOTCH customer service. Total cost for the job (Including labor, software, and equipment): under 300 bucks.
Total cost for the peace of mind I know have, and resources to avoid the problems next time: Priceless. From now on, Neal and Bay Area Computer Repair are my "go to" team for anything IT related.

I found Neil when we moved to Pacifica about 4 years ago. He first helped us with all of our home computer needs and was great. Hardware, software and virus protection. Then I had him purchase 4 workstation computers and a server for my office. It was the first time I was responsible for upgrading our server and machines but Neil came through with excellent machines, great prices and a quick set-up time.
The best thing about Neil is that he always wants to complete a job in the most economical way to pass the savings on to his customer. His hourly rate is also extremely reasonable. I highly recommend Neil for all of your home and small business computer needs!

I Found this business in yahoo , I read all the good reviews about Neal and I had a faith about this company I almost don't need to add one, but my experience was so good, it would be wrong not to chime in. This place is the whole package: Neil was kind, responsive, professional, reasonably priced, and completely effective. I'd hoped he could rescue the files off the hard drive in my dead laptop, and he saved them all, with a very quick turnaround, and he couldn't have been nicer.

Neil is knowledgeable, efficient, and his services are a great value! I required data recovery from my old laptop (the laptop itself and its hard drive were total losses). He was able to recover the files and save the recovered files to a new flash drive (which I had purchased elsewhere and brought to him).

My computer had run into the Windows 10 Autorepair PC Loop. Now, I hadn't backed up any pictures of my almost 1 year old baby or any of the videos from when I played in a band, so obviously I was freaking out. These are precious and I couldn't afford to lose them. I tried everything to fix it myself, (using a restore point, booting Win10 from the USB, etc) but all the tips online did not work, and I could not even get past this error screen.
I contacted Neil, told him about the issue. He quickly reassured me that this was a manageable issue. He set up an appointment time that was convenient to me. He was very helpful throughout the whole process. He verified my hard drive was fine and was able to immediately access my files. This was a huge relief! Within a 24 hours, he had restored my computer AND backed up my files on an external HD that I provided. Great price, excellent service, and very easy to work with. Brought to my Asus ROG gaming desktop to Neil after it was not booting up properly and stuck in a BIOS loop. He was able to quickly identify the issue with my computer and begin to go to work on it. After only 45min he was able to recognize the issue and then fix it. I'm very happy with the job he has done and will definitely refer anyone with all types of issue to come in and inquire. 5 stars will definitely be back upon need.

Neil is absolutely FANTASTIC! I was looking for a new computer tech for my parents company (Fern Tile Company, Inc.) and came upon Bay Area Computer Repairs through Yelp. Not only did Neil come out to the home office right away, but he offered new computers at a very reasonable price. A few months after our initial computer set-up (networking Quickbooks and the 2 computers together), we unfortunately accepted a virus into our computer by unknowingly clicking on a resume that had the virus.
At the time, we were looking for employees, so clicking on the resume didn't seem to be a threat. Well, it was. I called Neil and he explained to unplug our computers from the internet and he came out right away to help try to recover our files. Luckily, he was able to retrieve all of our data - because of his timely actions, the virus was not able to any of our data.
